Abigail is a sustainable aviation specialist with extensive strategy and policy development, regulation and stakeholder management expertise within the aviation, rail and water industries. Abigail's experience covers aviation decarbonisation, climate change adaptation and airport operational resilience.
Abigail has a wide understanding of the complexities of the aviation system, developed over 13 years at the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Her role as Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Engagement Lead at the CAA covered aviation decarbonisation, including as a member of the Regulatory sub-group of the Jet Zero Council and climate adaptation at airports. As the Economic Regulation Licensing lead for Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Abigail developed the licensing frameworks focussing mainly on the operational and financial resilience requirements and on service quality issues.
Prior to joining the CAA, Abigail spent 10 years at the Office of Road and Rail (ORR) regulating Network Rail with a focus on service quality, operational requirements and performance, under both the licence and contractual frameworks.
