Rick Wagstaffe joined MAG in January 2016 to lead aviation aspects of the £1.3bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP). He subsequently became Operations Change Director for MANTP, leading on the operational aspects of the programme, including ensuring that the works were completed in a live airport environment with minimum disruption, whilst moving multiple airlines to Terminal 2 and completing all the operational readiness trials and familiarisation for the opening of the new facilities in Terminal 2. Prior to joining MAG, Rick was Vice President of airline procurement for Emirates. Based in Dubai, Rick looked after all contractual spend with suppliers across the globe and led on commercial agreements relating to route development, specifically including the introduction of the A380 to the fleet. Throughout the 1990s Rick worked in operational and managerial roles for Lufthansa at London Heathrow after studying Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. Rick is also an alumnus of Cranfield University’s School of Management.
