Tor Iversen is Head of Communications for Avinor’s £440M New Bodø Airport project, one of Norway’s largest ongoing infrastructure developments and what Avinor hopes will become a benchmark for cost-effective, on-time delivery. With extensive experience in strategic communication for complex projects, Tor plays a key role in stakeholder engagement, public and government relations, and ensuring transparent dialogue throughout the delivery process. His career spans major transport and aviation initiatives. At the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority, he served as Director of Communications for seven years and later as Special Advisor to the Director General, leading international campaigns such as Norway’s successful ICAO Council election. He also managed the planning and execution of the Nordic region’s largest civil aviation conference and advised on crisis communication and organizational strategy. After leaving the Authority, Tor ran his own consultancy, where he amongst others managed Green Flyway – a cross-border innovation project and test arena for sustainable aviation between Norway and Sweden. Known for his ability to combine strategic insight with practical execution, Tor brings expertise in project communication, stakeholder management, and sustainability to ensure collaboration, innovation, and timely delivery in complex infrastructure projects.
