London Luton Airport is a key driver of economic prosperity for Luton and the surrounding sub-region, contributing £1.3 billion in GDP to the UK economy and accounting for some 27,000 jobs throughout its supply chain. As sole shareholder of London Luton Airport Limited, Luton Council is in a commanding position to harness the energy, current success and future potential of the airport to help deliver the objectives of the Luton Investment Framework.
Anita leads a team providing dedicated support to London Luton Airport Limited (LLAL) and driving the Council’s objectives as shareholder of the company, and for the delivery of the Luton Enterprise Zone. The delivery of the growth of the airport is a key corporate priority. This includes the plan to double the size of London Luton Airport through the application of a Development Consent Order (DCO). Anita leverages development at London Luton Airport to optimise return on shareholder investment and delivers a series of major infrastructure and development projects delivering social and economic benefits to Luton. These projects include the contract and build of the £225 million DART new rail link between Luton Parkway Station and the airport. She also represents the interests of London Luton Airport, and Luton in general, and enhances relationships at a local, regional, national and international level with stakeholders; government (particularly the Department for Transport) both national and local, and airlines (easyJet, Ryanair, IAG and others).
